operation of Sky Digi boxes. This is the Sky approved type ofmagic eyesupplied with a ready made high grade coaxial cable. This unit and the supplied cable allows the remote control of a Sky Digi Box, Sky Plus Box or Sky HD box from another room in your home.Correct operation of a TV link can sometimes be more tricky to setup than expected with most issues being related to the quality of the coaxial connections and the cable used. Using this kit eliminates cable and connection issues as everything is premade for you to assemble yourself.Let’s have a closer look at what you get:1 x Sky Approved Global TV Link Unit1 x 10M White Coaxial Cable Terminated With High Grade Crimped F Connectors1 x Male Coaxial Adaptor1 x Female Coaxial Adaptor10 x White 7mm Cable Clips With Masonry NailsPlease note that this kit is designed to work directly with Sky digi boxesthat have an RF OUT2connection. Please read further in the listing for more details. Newer boxes that do not have an RF OUT2 can still be used with this kit but you will need to separately purchase anIO Link.Thiskit works due to the clever TV Link feature fitted toall Sky digi _x000D_
boxes. At the rear of the receiver you will find an RFOUT2 connection. _x000D_
If you connect the supplied long male to female coaxial cable to this connection _x000D_
and feed it to another room then you can you can connect the TV Link _x000D_
unit at the remote end of the cable. The TV Link connects in between the_x000D_
aerial plug on the cable and the aerial socket of your TV. You can then_x000D_
use the Sky remote you already have or an additional handset to change _x000D_
channels and fully operate theSky box. This avoids you having to _x000D_
continually go through to the room where the Sky box is located to _x000D_
change channels or select playback on a Sky Plus box for example.How_x000D_
does this work?…………… The TV Link unit effectively operates _x000D_
as an extended infra red receiver that is already fitted to the front of_x000D_
your digi box. The TV link sends the infra red commands form your Sky _x000D_
remote control back up the coaxial cable. These commands are received _x000D_
and actioned by the digi box. In order for the TV Link to operate it _x000D_
requires power and this is cleverly fed down the coaxial cablefrom the _x000D_
digi box internal power supply.Once_x000D_
correctly installed the TV link LED will illuminate indicating the _x000D_
presence of line power. If the LED is not lit then you need to check _x000D_
your installation. It may be that the RF line power is switched off, _x000D_
this is the default setting on new boxes. Please read the following _x000D_
information carefully. It is quite a simple operation to enable the RF _x000D_
line power, please note this procedure is not explained in the owners _x000D_
manual. Proceed as follows. For Sky standard and Sky Plus boxes:Press the SERVICES buttonSelect SYSTEM SETUP (option 4)Press 0 then 1 then SELECT (installer menu now appears)Select RF OUTLETS (option 4)Press the down arrow to select RF OUTPUT POWER SUPPLYPress the right arrow to switch the option onPress the down arrow to select SAVE NEW SETTINGSPress selectAt_x000D_
this point the line power is enabled on RF OUT2 and the LED light on _x000D_
the TV Link will be on. You will then be able to control the digi box _x000D_
from another room when the coaxial cable is connected. It is suggested _x000D_
that you initially connect the TV link directly to RF OUT2 at the back _x000D_
of your digi box until you achieve the red light coming on. The female connector on the TV link will plug directly_x000D_
into RF OUT2. When the RF line power is enabled the red LED light on the TV_x000D_
link will come on. This tests the functionality of both the digi box and_x000D_
the TV link. When you achieve this you can then use the extension cable supplied. The female coaxial connection connects to the RF OUT2 of the digi box and the male end connects directly to the female connector of the TV Link Unit. The male connection on the TV Link Unit connects into the antenna or aerial socket of your television. Please note the TV link will only function when connected to RF OUT2 on_x000D_
all Sky digi boxes and only with the RF line power enabled.The_x000D_
above procedure for enabling the RF line power applies to both the _x000D_
standard Sky digi box and to Sky Plus digi boxes. The procedure to _x000D_
enable the RF line power on a Sky HD box is a little different.Proceed as follows:Press the SERVICES buttonPress 0 then 0 then 1 then SELECTPress the right arrow 3 times to move the tab along to RF OutetsPress down arrow twice to move down to RF Outlet Power SupplyUse the right arrow to toggle the setting on and off. The required setting is on.Prees the green button to save the settingPress SKY to finish
